Terms and Conditions for Furniture Sales
- The goods as listed are my unencumbered property and are not subject to any Bill of Sale or Hire Purchase Agreement and I require the same to be sold without Reserve (if reserves are to be placed on any lots, such reserve prices are to be written in the column provided).
- I agree that the items shall be sold as per your normal conditions of sale.
- I agree to pay commission (inclusive of advertising costs) in accordance with the table below.
a) A minimum charge of £2 plus VAT on any lot whether sold or unsold.
b) 17.5% per lot plus VAT realising up to £100.
c) 15% per lot plus VAT realising over £100.
I agree to pay any removal charges incurred on my behalf.
- Low Voltage Electrical Appliances (Safety) Regulations. Vendors wishing to sell electrical items must produce to the Auctioneer an electrician's test certificate for each item, or offer the items for sale as scrap with plug removed.
- Oil Fueled Heating Appliances and Lighting Equipment, Oil Appliances (Safety) Regulations. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse any such appliances which do not not meet current safety standards.
- Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988
The Auctioneers can no longer sell any upholstered furniture made between 1950 and 1988, such furniture made post 1988 must carry an appropriate permanent safety label.
- All items remaining unsold must be removed by the vendor from the Salerooms on the day of sale unless specific arrangements are made with the Auctioneers. I agree that if any unreserved items on the entry form remain unsold for two consecutive sales the Auctioneers shall dispose of them as they think fit.
- Purchasers who leave items at the Salerooms do so at their own risk.
- Reserve process must be left in writing in reasonable time before the sale.
- Every endeavour is made to make settlement in respect of sales within 21 days, (providing we have received payment for the specific lot)
